Note on X
Your app, your limits, your bill from X.
SMMist does not resell X API access. Every X account you connect posts through a developer app you own. We store its keys encrypted, call X on your behalf, and show your 15-minute rate window in the sidebar so an agent can see the ceiling before it hits it.
| Who pays whom | For | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| You → SMMist | Your plan: scheduling, approvals, the record | $0–$49 / mo |
| You → X | Each post, on X’s pay-per-use pricing | ~$0.015 |
| You → X | A post that contains a URL | ~$0.20 |
| You → Meta | Instagram publishing | $0 |
X rates as published by X at the time of writing (October 2026). They are X’s to change; your X developer portal shows what you actually pay.
Why do I have to bring my own X developer keys?
X’s developer terms do not allow a service to resell access to its API, so SMMist never posts to X with its own app on your behalf. You create an app in X’s developer portal, paste its keys into SMMist (they are encrypted with a key held outside the database), and every X call runs on your app, under your rate limits, billed to your X account.
What does X charge me?
X bills its API usage to you directly; it is not part of your SMMist plan and we do not mark it up. At the time of writing X’s pay-per-use pricing is about $0.015 per post, and about $0.20 for a post that contains a link. Prices are X’s to change; check the X developer portal for your account’s current rates. One habit saves most of the money: keep the link out of the post and put it in a reply.
Does Instagram cost anything extra?
No. Instagram runs on SMMist’s own Meta app; you connect an Instagram professional (Business or Creator) account with Meta login. Meta limits each account to 100 published posts in 24 hours, and SMMist checks that before it sends.
What is a “published post-target”?
One post on one account. A post that goes to X and Instagram is two. It is counted once, when it publishes, however many attempts it took. Drafts, validation calls, failed and canceled targets, and everything done with a test key are free.
Can I try it without connecting a real account?
Yes. Test keys run the whole pipeline (validation, approvals, scheduling, the audit chain) against a fake publisher and never reach a real network. Test and live data never mix.
What does the Compliance tier add, and is it available?
Default-deny sign-off policies, required named supervisors, WORM-archived records, signed chain exports, retention and legal hold, and SSO. It is being built with a small number of design partners in regulated finance. If that is you, write to hello@smmist.com.
How do I cancel?
From the dashboard, at any time; the plan runs to the end of the period. Your audit export stays downloadable for 90 days after cancellation.
